Attorney Profile
CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY
Nicholas Milan Loncar, Esq.
Nicholas Loncar is a dedicated criminal defense attorney who focuses his practice on representing individuals facing high-stakes federal charges, serious state felony cases, and complex asset forfeiture proceedings. Known for his strategic approach and meticulous attention to detail, Mr. Loncar works to protect his clients’ rights at every stage of the criminal process—from investigation through trial and appeal.
Loncar has experience handling a wide range of federal matters, including allegations involving drug trafficking, fraud, money laundering, firearms offenses, bank robbery, murder, rape, human smuggling, and more. He understands the unique challenges posed by federal prosecutions, including aggressive investigative tactics and strict sentencing guidelines, and develops tailored defense strategies designed to counter the government’s case.
In addition to his federal practice, Mr. Loncar represents clients in serious state court felony matters, where the consequences of a conviction can be life-altering. He is committed to providing thorough, client-centered representation, ensuring that each client understands their options and is prepared for every phase of the legal process.
Loncar also has significant experience in asset forfeiture cases, advocating for clients whose property has been seized or targeted by the government. He works to challenge unlawful seizures and seeks to recover assets whenever possible, recognizing the financial and personal impact forfeiture actions can have.
Clients value Loncar for his clear communication, responsiveness, and unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible outcome. He approaches every case with the understanding that behind every charge is a person whose future is on the line.
Loncar learned to fight against the world’s injustices from an early age. After leaving wartime Yugoslavia as a child, he observed the unfair treatment of his father, other immigrants and marginalized groups. Most specifically, his father was ethnically profiled and arrested for terrorism based on nothing more than his Serbian heritage.
Acting out during his youth and adolescence, Loncar frequently found himself in trouble in school, and even with the law. He knows what it is like to feel as if the whole world is against you, and what it means to be by your side through that. Standing up to authority, getting himself out of trouble, and adhering strictly to a moral code of right and wrong laid the foundation for a remarkable career in criminal defense.
Always interested in social justice and activism, Loncar was an avid reader of Malcolm X, James Baldwin, and John Rawls. He also found inspiration in conscious hip hop music, and has been a lifelong fan of artists like Tupac Shakur, KRS-One, Chuck D (of Public Enemy), and Nas. These interests resulted in a well-rounded education reaching far beyond the classroom.
During high school, Loncar honed his discipline, tenacity, and toughness training at Joe Frazier’s Gym in North Philadelphia. Boxing served as an outlet for anger, and helped develop an unshakable character.
Loncar soon left the ring behind for the podium, competing in collegiate debate tournaments around the country and received an elite formal education at one of the nation’s top universities. During law school, Loncar studied criminal law, trial advocacy, constitutional law, and earned school credits interning at multiple public defender agencies, including the Federal Public Defender in Camden, the Defender Association of Philadelphia, and the San Diego County Alternate Public Defender.
Since first becoming a lawyer in 2012, Loncar has been zealously advocating for his criminal defense and asset forfeiture clients in several states and federal districts. Focusing on serious cases allows him to devote the time each case needs, and the experience has made him an accomplished trial lawyer, a strong negotiator, and a skilled advocate at motion and sentencing hearings.
With a lifelong passion for justice, each chapter of Loncar’s life has helped to shape the man and attorney he is today. Defending the accused and helping clients through their hardest times is hard, but also rewarding and healing.
